Lyn Rees
Group CEO - BBI Holdings Ltd
Lyn joined the group in 1999 as Sales and Marketing Manager for BBInternational and was integral in the company’s strategic move from the life sciences and research arena into the £15 billion diagnostics market. Rising through the ranks of the commercial team, Lyn became Sales Director of the division and implemented strategies to grow BBInternational to be a market leader in reagent supply, contract manufacture and assay development. In 2006 Lyn successfully set up BBI Healthcare, an innovative and ambitious company that supplies novel diabetes care products to domestic and international markets. He returned to BBInternational as CEO in late 2007 where he was responsible for achieving significant growth in terms of revenue and staffing levels. Most recently in late 2009, Lyn was appointed Group CEO. As well as being responsible for BBInternational, he now also oversees BBI Healthcare and BBI Enzymes.
Fiona Marshall
Managing Director
In 2006, Fiona joined BBI Dundee as Operations Manager, bringing with her, significant operational, quality and business experience. She has a strong scientific background, having worked for over 20 years in a variety of disciplines including molecular biology, parasitology, and wound-healing. In 1999, Fiona moved from university-based research to a commercial management position before going on to establish her own consultancy business specialising in the implementation of Quality Management Systems. During this time she worked in a diverse range of manufacturing and operational environments including drug metabolism, medical devices and IVD’s. During her tenure as Operations Manager in Dundee she also took on responsibility for bringing the BBI Madison (Wi) research site up to speed as an operational facility and subsequently helped secure a prestigious US manufacturing contract. After taking the reins as General Manager at BBI Dundee, Fiona went on to be confirmed as the new Managing Director of BBInternational in August 2011. Fiona’s customer-focused teams in Cardiff, and Dundee are responsible for the supply of high-quality diagnostic products to a growing client-base worldwide.
Paul Christopher
Head of Operations
Since joining BBI in 2000 Paul has worked to develop and grow BBI’s contract product development service for point of care tests before continuing to set up BBI’s contract manufacturing service for these products. As Operations Director Paul has ongoing responsibility for late stage R&D transfer into production, point of care test production, BBI’s supply chain management teams and also covers technical aspects of customer contracts. Paul oversees operational process scale up and technical improvement projects and heads process excellence initiatives as part of BBI’s continuous improvement program.
Nikki Robinson
Head of Reagents
Starting with BBI in 1995, Nikki was one of the first 10 BBI employees and has been instrumental in the development and manufacture of BBI’s core products. Now heading up the Reagents team Nikki is responsible for the production of BBI Gold Colloid and Gold Conjugates. Having experienced at first hand the growth of BBI from a small private company to the global diagnostics business it is today, Nikki has gained invaluable experience which ensures production capabilities are continually meeting customers’ requirements and the unmistakable quality of BBI’s unique recipe Gold Colloid is maintained at all times.
Morag has over 20 years experience in assay development utilising a broad variety of platforms and technologies that have encompassed a diverse range of diagnostic and detection applications. Her career has included positions of R&D Manager and Business Development Manager within the diagnostic field and she is currently the Technical Development Manager for BBI Dundee. Morag overseas all technical projects and manages the technical team within the Dundee Facility. Morag is committed to ensuring all product developments and technical requirements are successfully completed to ensure customer satisfaction while constantly searching for innovative solutions.
Leigh Thomas
Head of Sales
Leigh is a Sales professional with 15 years experience in Business to Business Sales and Negotiation. He joined BBI in 2003 and has a proven track record of delivering on the rapid growth strategy of the company. He has overall responsibility for Divisional Sales and retains responsibility for some key strategic accounts. Leigh and his team are focused on delivering high quality end to end diagnostic services to our many customers.
Geran Davies
Head of Quality
Geran has over 14 years experience working in quality and regulatory affairs, ranging from consumer electronics to medical devices. With a strong quality engineering background, he is passionate about quality and always follows quality ethics, such as doing things right first time (preventive is better than corrective). Geran is a member of the Chartered Quality Institute (Chartered Quality Professional Status - Geran Davies MCQI CQP B Eng) and is directly responsible for quality for BBInternational’s Cardiff and Dundee sites but is also key in supporting the other BBI Holdings businesses in quality related areas.
Pete Corish
Head Of BBInnovations
Peter is responsible for BBI’s research portfolio development for assay reagents, molecular testing and enzymes. With a PhD background in Molecular Genetics, he has worked in the Life Science and Biotech sectors, commercialising novel nucleic acid testing technologies and more recently nanotechnology-based diagnostics.
